Riba u ishrani - zašto je zdravo jesti ribu!

Considering that it contains omega-3 and omega-4 fatty acids, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and that it is low in calories, nutritionists recommend that it should take part of our diet at least two times a week. First of all, fish is rich in proteins, which do not contain any harmful saturated fats and supply us with indispensable amino acids, as opposed to meat. It is proved, that omega-3 and omega-6 unsaturated fatty acids, which fish abound with, influence exceptionally positive heart and blood vessels. The best illustration are Eskimos, who´s daily menu is full of fish, and for whom heart attack and other cardiovascular diseases are unbelievably rare.

Most of fish species are very rich in vitamins, especially in B vitamin (valuable for proper functioning of nervous system) and minerals, such as phosphorus, calcium, zinc, sodium, potassium, copper, iron, selenium and iodine, which is important for proper functioning of thyroid gland.
